Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (8-37), rat, a competitive CGRP1 receptor antagonist, exhibited hypothermic and antinociceptive effects. CGRP-I (8-37) antagonized the effects of amylin and amylin (1-8) on osteoblasts but was substantially less potent in this regard than amylin (8-37). Furthermore, it inhibited the evoked discharge frequency of wide dynamic range neurons in dorsal horn of the spinal cord in rats.
